I am getting this error when I try to connect to the device:
under "Select Device", it shows up as "\\.\COM7", then I got this error:
"xavna_read_autosweep failed: Resource deadlock avoided"
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
As of 2023 there are many badly performing clones on the market. V2/3GHz NanoVNA uses parts like ADF4350 and AD8342 which are costly and clones have been cutting costs by using salvaged or reject parts.
See official store and look for V2 Plus4/V2 Plus4 Pro versions only to avoid getting a bad clone. We have stopped selling V2.2 versions since October 2020, so all V2 hardware that are not Plus or Plus4 are not made by us and we can not guarantee performance.

I have the exact same issue (but just a different COM26). Same error though. I can't figure it out. Thanks for any help.
Solved. I re-installed the Windows driver (CypressDriverInstaller_1.exe) ( https://nanorfe.com/downloads/NanoVNA-QT/CypressDriverInstaller_1.exe ) and this fixed all my issues mentioned above.
Closed.
I had the exact same problem. The solution was to re-install : Windows driver (CypressDriverInstaller_1.exe) ( https://nanorfe.com/downloads/NanoVNA-QT/CypressDriverInstaller_1.exe )
I hope this helps.
I also have this problem but as I'm using Win11 there is apparantly no requirement for the CypressDriverInstaller_1.exe) ( https://nanorfe.com/downloads/NanoVNA-QT/CypressDriverInstaller_1.exe ).
Currently stuck with no idea what to do next.

That Update isntalled today. Made no difference.
Install CH340 driver and reboot. Then check
The download page says quite clearly " the driver is automatically installed by Windows Update upon first connection " so I'm not going to install any driver not specifically mentioned on the companies own website.
Interestingly I have since downloaded NanoVNA Saver which does connect to the device so I guess I will manage without NanoVNA QT.
Yes, in my case, the driver was not automatically installed. Then chatgpt helped me to solve the tissue.
In device manager, check if there is ‘USB to serial’ driver installed in Ports.
if not, then relying on company’s website message will never solve your issue.
you need to manually install USB to serial communication driver. I installed CH340 driver and it worked.
With the Nano connected I have Comm3 serial port in my device manager and if NanoVNA Saver can talk to the device but NanoVNA QT cannot I am inclined to believe it is the application that is at fault and not my pc. Deffo not installing drivers on the advice of AI.
Hi Jim sent shot of nanovna qt connected to my laptop and device manager
plus you will see it's a cypress driver ,I can also update firmware to my
NanoVNA v2 plus 4 hope this helps also works with Saver software too Dave
